Yeah, it's like the idea behind remaking the Office - which, I think, is that Americans won't get it unless it's American. (Or at least enough of them won't get it based on a national audience quota.)

eh, i don't get what the big deal is about remaking something. it happens all the time, everywhere, with everything. and maybe, just maybe, something equally good (or better) happens. then we have double goodness.
i watched the original version of the office first, and i loved it. now, i get to watch the american version, and i love it, too. yay! for perpetuating a good idea.
