I think Hilbert is referring to death.

I was referring to High School, actually. Haha.

My college experience, thus far, has been way better.

seriously. I LOVED being 17, and really appreciated being a teenager. The best time of my life was 10th-12th grade. So far anyways. I'd hate to think it's all downhill from there, because that is a terribly depressing way to think. So far my 20's suck ass, so actually I'm really looking forward to getting older.

I would totally go back. Life was really good for me during that time...and to be honest it's been kind of a bitch ever since. Well, my whole outlook has changed. I don't know what happened, but deep down I am such a negative, bitter person at times and I don't know how to control it. Strange how your hormones can change you so drastically. *shrugs*

the only thing i couldn't deal with would be the lack of control over my own life - i.e living in my parents house, having a curfew, having to account for my whereabouts, going to high school, etc. i have a hard time being told what to do.

Truth.

Seriously, what kind of high school did you guys go to where this "fun" was occurring?

well, it wasn't necessarily high school that was fun, but it was all the experiences that led up to adulthood that was so exciting. Like, looking at boys in a totally different way and the little schoolgirl crushes i had, and experiencing drugs for the first time, the parties, skipping school, etc. Like, smoking weed and the occasional acid trip was the most amazing thing to me. After a few years of being a pothead the romance wore off and eventually I rarely smoked. That's what it is. The romance and uncertainty and sexual newness was what was amazing.

Major ditto on that one. This is one of the biggest reasons why I had to go into business for myself. I cannot have some asshole boss breathing down my neck telling me what to do. I'm also not very good at the marriage thing since I will not let my husband tell me what I can and can't do. His best friend wasn't "allowed" to hang out with us during Halloween this year because his wife said no. Umm....if my husband EVER told me "no", I would basically laugh in his face and let the door hit him on my way out. Don't get me wrong, I'm not a completely insensitive bitch or anything. If my hubby has had a really bad day and is super depressed and just needs someone to cuddle, I'll cancel my plans for him...but not because he "told" me to stay home. I'd do it because I'm a nice fucking person and it would be my decision.

umm... no one has the right to tell anyone else what they can and can't do. been married now for almost 20 years, in part because neither of us would ever even think of doing something like that. it shows a lack of respect for the other person as a human being, and is a recipe for disaster long term.

Glad to hear the system works. ^_^

Hey, how come if a woman is very controlling over a man its "normal" but if a man is very controlling over a woman its "dangerous" and she should leave the situation immediately? I mean, considering there is no physical abuse in either scenario, why is it not just as dangerous for a woman to take away all of a man's friends/money/freedom?

High school was fun, because i was never there. We'd just steal bottles of wine from the store or liquor from our parents or made older siblings buy beer and cigarettes and we'd just skip school and have tons of fun. I remember the very last week of school for me, the guys in my class were like "oh, she's come to school finally!"

I graduated because i just went to take the tests, basically, and aced (well, in some cases just passed) them all, because i was like, you know, naturally smart, like.

And i'd like to go back to being a teen, definitely. And this time around i'd go to school and be miserable.
