I quit smoking on Sunday. I'd been saying for MONTHS that my quit date was to be November 1st & that I wanted to have quit smoking for at least a month before my 30th birthday.

I am going nuts. I don't remember it being this hard to quit (I quit in 2004 and stayed off the nicotine for just over 3 years).

I'm managing to get through the cravings, although the 1st true test will be tonight at the bar. But so many times this week I have wanted to smack the shit out of someone. Or choke them. Or back over them with a car.

Hang in there. When I quit cigs I started eating salted sunflower seeds compulsively. It helped though smacking the shit out of somebody sounds pretty good too.

When I start thinking about having a cigarette my toes curl up and I can feel my fingers twitching. Pleasant.

Statistically nic fits only last 15 seconds. That help me at one point. Find something to do with your hands to help with the fidgeting.

I know. But all my friends know that I quit. I only have 2 friends that might be there that still smoke.

the nicorette inhaler was what made quitting stick with me, finally. just had my five year anniversary of being smoke-free.

Actually, our smoking ban goes into effect on January 1st. Which was another reason I quit.

Mooney, that's a good idea. One of the women I work for told me that her mom switched to this and loves it. I've considered it, but it just seems like swapping one bad habit for another one, albeit slightly less evil.

I'm not a gum chewer, so that's out. I honestly really do love smoking.

that's exactly what the nicorette inhaler does, but with the mandate to reduce, over time, the amount of nicotine you use as you buy lower nicotine cartridges. i found it helped my hand-to-mouth urgers, and the slow wean method was the only way to get me off the drug permanently.
