...I'm coming to your town! Just for a long weekend - I get in late Thursday, October 23rd and leave the morning of Monday, the 27th. My buddy I'm going to visit has classes all day Friday, so I'm left to my own devices. Definitely going to check out Recognize! but otherwise am looking for suggestions of things to do and/or mayhap even a meet-up?! Red Face

My ability to walk is limited these days, which limits what I can do, but I'd love to see as much as I can in the short time I'm there. I haven't been in over a decade!

Highly recommended that you check out Crooked Beat Records. Excellent totally independent record store in a basement. Ian MacKaye lives in the neighborhood and bikes there on occasion. When I was in there, the singer from Nation Of Ulysses just happened to walk in and start chatting with the guy behind the counter.

yeah, i had a blast. i saw your post about the portrait gallery. god, i could have spent all day there. what else did you do besides museums?

i'm so fucking bummed the american history museum was closed.
