I have just started listening to these guys and I am OBSESSED. This hasn't happened to me in a long time. I cannot listen to them enough. When I am not listening to them I am wishing I was listening to them and I think I could listen to the song Saddest Quo 50 times a day. I could listen to Baby in Two 25 times a day. I have 3 of their albums and want more.

Uhhhhh...anyone else like them?

Smile

I had a Pernice Brothers thread somewheres here. Yeah. I got into them big time for a short period there. Still like 'em a lot. Love his voice. I want to go home to that every night.

Benjamin Spider is also a huge fan. He can tell you lots about 'em.

Oh God, his voice is so beautiful. I get chills listening to him and I love the lyrics. I got 2 of their CDs out of the library after a friend gave me Yours, Mine and Ours. But I haven't heard the first 2 and I am going to have to order them right now because 3 CDs aren't enough.

I just hope I don't make myself hate them but it's making me so happy right now.

I want to hear Spider's take on this band.

Ben! Where are you? I've missed you.

I liked these guys in 2003 for a period of about 48 hours.

I think they're incredible, although the last record took a little time to get into, but now I play it nearly as much as "The World Won't End" which I think is one of the best all around albums that has ever been.

I don't think they've taken a bad step yet, though Joe seems to be focusing more on writing books than actually music these days. That's ok, I'm sure he'll have a new batch soon enough.

Fantastic band. There are little parts of songs that are absolute bliss. The end of "How To Live Alone" comes to mind. I'm going to have to listen to that record at work tomorrow as it's the one that I usually overlook when choosing one.

I dunno, nothing ever really stuck when I listened to them. I should probably go back and revisit.

she heightened everything is one of my favorite songs ever.

they are really fun live. and joe pernice is truly nice in person. i attended a solo show where he sang, read poetry, took questions from the audience, and then signed stuff. it was a fun night.

I love his voice... I've never gotten fully into them, though. BUT! I've only really heard one full album.

The Saddest Quo is so catchy it's painful. I listen to it over and over again.

Baby in Two is beautiful it's painful. Sounds like Elliot Smith. The song kept popping up on my MP3 player when I would put it on random. I kept thinking it was Elliot Smith and then I'd see it wasn't and I started wondering who the hell the Pernice Brothers were. Someone had given me that album and I hadn't really listened to it intentionally.

So last weekend I listened to the whole album "Yours, Mine and Ours" while working on a painting and was blown away. When it was nearly over my husband came down and asked me what I was listening to and we played it all over again. The next day he chad checked out 2 more of their albums from the library and I have been making myself nuts. I listen to them all day long. I DON'T DO THAT ever!

I bring all 3 albums to work and listen to them on my computer. I NEVER DO THAT!

And I haven't even heard World Won't End or Overcome By Happiness and those are supposed to be their best. Right?

But I did something I rarely do...I BOUGHT them. I got on Amazon and bought them. And I bought brand new copies not used. And I plan on bying new copies of these 3 that I have. Oh help me I am planning on buying Joe's book of poems if I can find a copy that is not used.

What the hell!!!??? Has Joe Pernice put a spell on me? I read that they don't tour because they can barely afford their mortgages and I suddenly wanted to give them all of my money.
