A midwife is a trained professional woman in pregnancy and childbirth and during the postnatal period.

I prefer a midwife over a doctor, and thank goddess, the UK is very supportive of midwives and appoints midwives to pregnant women mostly, as opposed to an OB in the US.

I think all first time pregnant ladies have at least a few moments of totaling freaking out and wondering if what is happening is normal or what they are feeling is normal. I've done so much learning about birth/pregnancy/and beyond these past few years, though, so I feel like I am well informed, really. I'm calm. Smile
