How do thesse compare to the 30th anniversary remasters in their lovely easily damaged cardboard sleeves ? is it just that they're in 5.1. or are there extra tracks & artwork etc.

I bet they sound utterly awesome, pity I don't have a 5.1 system, otherwise I'd definately invest, again !

Larks Tongues In Aspic will be immense.

They sound really clean. Steve Wilson of Porcupine Tree did all the remixing from the original 2in masters. His sense of positioning, especially on RED is awesome. He places you dead center of Bruford, Wetton and Fripp. Every other instrument sorta floats in an out different places. Really awesome mixing.

Each disc comes as a 2 disc set, DVD 5.1 & Standard CD. On the DVD you get a Hi Res lossless DVD-A 5.1 mix as well as a DTS 5.1 mix. As well as stereo versions of both formats. The DVD also includes some studio outtakes.

Haven't had a chance to delve to far into IN THE COURT or LIZARD. But, the RED DVD also included video from a 1974 live performance on ORT FRENCH TV playing "Larks Tongue Pt2, The Watchman, Lament and Starless"

WOW !

I must own RED. The 73-74 line up is my all time favourite. If only Larks had video footage of the band with Jamie Muir. but i don't think any exists.

It seems like they're are similar package to the Genesis remasters from last year.

Thanks

Like God passing gas. And I mean that in a good way. All that fuzz and shit that you think sounds compressed and hot on the cd...totally comes together.

Today I tried to replace some shit I can't find and buy some new shit. So I bought Stooges S/T and Raw Power, I bought Hit To Death by the Lips (Still can't find Priest Driven Ambulance). I picked up a Pete Seeger best of kinda I think and something of a compilation from Ralph Stanley and the Carter Brothers. He was on NPR the other day and sounded great at 82, so I bet his early shit is pretty good.
