Give me a break! Since when does every cover song have to be played note for note like the original? They put their own spin on it, as a Ween fan I was beyond thrilled to hear Roses being covered by my second favorite band...especially on 4/3/98 (Nassau Coliseum, 2nd set opener). Listen to that version and tell me there is no soul, go ahead and try...

I supported myself on tour for 8 years selling jewelry that my wife made ($20-$60 per necklace), beer ($3 a beer or 2 for $5, or $5 for a 22 oz.), or "other items" (?????). The "other items" were the big money maker but we did really well with beer and jewelry as well. More than enough to see every show we wanted to.


People will buy pretty much anything before and after the show, and most people bring a shitload of money to spend. I don't think the economy is going to effect that marketplace too much, I'm hoping it keeps people from touring, less people equals more tickets floating around, but more than likely everyone will just carpool and be much smarter about gas, a few bucks here and there won't stop people from seeing the band they love so much.


Gas won't be the thing that keeps us off tour this time around, finding a babysitter will be. My kids are too young to be subjected to that lifestyle. I could see taking my son to one or two shows close to home but no touring for either of them until much later on in life.

I saw phish bust out Gold Soundz one summer...Trey was a big pavement fan.

yeah dude, I know how that shit works I saw my first phish show almost 20 years ago and lots of dead before that.

But you can't ignore the fact that gas was $2 a gallon when they quit touring and it's 4 now.

When I was going to a lot of shows I much preferred to enjoy my buzz before/after the show with my friends in a hotel than cruising the lot trying to hustle shit to a bunch of shady freaks.
