Have you had Uncle Billy's (on Barton Springs) Insomniac Espresso Stout? Holy shit, it's delicious! And it's currently on tap. Smile
Ooh, have not. Sounds like I gotta check that out. You ever down there? 'Haps we could meet up and drink a few. Smile

Just picked up some Two Brothers Prairie Path. Its a Belgian Pale Ale..a little light on the alcohol side (5.1%) but pretty damn tasty and a good session beer.

I'm down there pretty much every Tuesday night for $2 pint night. I'll be down there this coming Tuesday for sure, seeing that it's also a cask night. And I think Scumbono will be there too...unless he's scared. Razz

Tuesday will be my first night in my new place just a couple miles from there. Better way to break it in? I think not. Cool

Picked up a couple of sixers of Sierra Nevada's 2009 Anniversary Ale. Pretty good! Still, Celebration is my favorite of theirs. I also made a pilgrimage to the homebrew shop I order all my stuff from. I only spent $100, I could have dropped half a large on toys I want.

I also managed to take down an entire bottle of Goose Island's Bourbon County Stout. It's probably the thickest stuff I've ever drank. Very sweet, malty, and nutty. At 13%, there wasn't a lot of head, but I told my buddy who gave me one that he should stash the others in the basement and check them in a year.

Hahaha no! I'm not rich!

I'd like to try it sometime. 24-27% alcohol? Damn. I can only imagine how thick and sweet it is.

When aging a beer, what temp are you looking for. That is, I live in an area that gets very hot in the summer and there are no such things as basements. Would a fridge do?

Not really. Proper aging of beer is done at 'cellar temperatures' of around 50-60 degrees F.

Come on. A little dip into the college fund now and then never hurt anyone.

Anyway, I've never had it either (probably never will) but the concept intrigues me. Its described more as a port-type drink than a beer once its in that type of state.

Yeah. Maybe when the homebrew club gets going full on, we can pool in for one of these. Hell, the bottle alone is cool as shit.

I've had really good experiences with Lagunitas in general... although, I didn't particularly like their Lucky 13 Ale (although at $3.99 for a bomber here, I may give it another chance). Everything else, though, has been pretty damn good right from the start.
