Beer you made, beer you bought, beer you love. Share it with us!

About a week ago I went to a very nearby (down the block) craft beer bar and asked the bartender to recommend a trappist beer other than Chimay (I drink a lot of Chimay). She told me to try Trappistes Rochefort 10 - and it's currently my favorite beer.

Documentation:
The Label

The Pour: one, two, three.

My new Hold Steady/Stay Positive mug.

Who else is drinking on this fine Sunday?

I just picked up four at the store. Make your way to Madison, and I'll save you one.

Tonight I am literally stuck on the couch with the worst case of (I hope?) allergies evar. I get hot/cold, my body's weak, and I have an itchy throat, but there's no lump back there like you get with a cold. I'm literally fucking depleted with a hot pad on me to keep from shivering.

With that said, I brewed a light(er) Pale Ale using centennial hops yesterday. The area where I keep my fermentor smells fantastic. Next saturday is National Homebrew Day, so I guess I'd better drum up another recipe.

I'm bummed I missed the beer and cheese fest in LaCrosse yesterday, I hear it was insane.

Your beer sounds fantastic. Nice mug, too!

I've been on a huge IPA kick lately. I literally dont think I've bought anything else in the last couple months. I've been thoroughly enjoying Bells Two Hearted, Mad Hatter, Dogfish Head 60 Minute, and Laguintas.

Yeah, M. When I buy beer now, I usually only buy IPAs. Rush River's Bubblejack is nice, but Two Hearted is the standard by which all beers compare to in my house. My Pale I brewed yesterday is actually a toned down version of various two hearted clone recipes....

I used to think I hated IPAs - I love them now, I'm grateful I kept trying until I got it.

Same here. I used to only drink really sweet pale ass beers like Rolling Rock. My first IPA was a Goose Island, and I didn't like it. I still don't like it, but they redeemed themselves with the excellent 312.
Now, if it's no bitter as shit, it better be dark. Speaking of dark, I am beginning to research into building a Chocolate Oatmeal Imperial Stout. I figure if I brew it in June, let it condition until december, it will be happy and warming!

Red Hook IPA made me a fan of IPAs. Wish I could find it here.

I used to get TORE up on Red Hook on the Bremerton/Seattle ferry. Back when it was local.

You can't find Red Hook? That's crazy. I drank a lot of Red Hook Black Hook when I was in small town, South Dakota. I thought it was everywhere.

2 Hearted is one of my all time favs, but I gotta say this Laguintas is giving it a run for its money. Theres some awesome grapefruit undertones...

O Wow O Wow. I'm in Kona and have been frequenting the Kona brewery over the past couple of weeks. They say they use Kona coffee in the Pipeline but to my taste it isn't there 'enough.'

We JUST started getting that around here. I got all facked up on their barleywine, it was fantastic. It'll be my next IPA buy.
Plus, I listened to a podcast on the beer network with those guys, and they're totally laid back stoners.

Long Hammer IPA made me a fan of the hops.

Lagunitas is fucking awesome! Especially their Maximus Double IPA. The only problem I have with them is putting twist offs on their 12oz instead of pop tops.

Recently tried the Shiner Commemorator 100th Anniversary Centennial Ale ... not a fan of "stark" beer, but it grew on me. It's a good 6.7% buzz for the light $7 price tag.
