no, but freiburg is more or less at the southern tip of the black forest -- the only surrounding areas i saw were titisee, karlsruhe, & schauinsland

my english has become a little broken -- there were times in munich when i was so sloshed that i would begin sentences in english and end them in german (and vice versa)

It's been good. Kinda hot with a lot of rain recently. No hurricanes yet, but hopefully we'll have one soon.

Jaymo, are you still going to Belgium and Luxembourg? If so,

Luxembourg City is amazing, take a walking tour of the lower city and go into the casemates.

In Belgium, Brugge is a must, but if you're already in the Netherlands, it might not be as cool for you. The middle of the city is full of tourists, but just outside the marketplace is awesome. It costs money to climb to the top of the bellfry, but its really cool. Canal rides and bike rentals are fairly cheap and worth it. Get some frites and chocolate and lots of beer.

Bruxelles is also really cool. Check out the Grand Place in the center of town. Musical Instruments Museum is great, lots of great gardens and galleries around, etc. Plus all of the EU buildings are there if you're into that sort of thing.

I think it may be too late for me on this trip. I have resolved to come back a.s.a.p. and spend more time in Freiburg and Benelux

tonight we're (me and gf) going to see icebar because a friend told me about it -- i figure it will be a novelty for a drink
