Ok so U2 is coming here to Toronto and I`m actually thinking about seeing them.

I`m not a fan but have really liked a few of there songs over the years, like One for example.

Bono I really dont care for,him wearing out of date Womens eye glass frames etc.

That said I`m considering seeing them live just to check them out.

So I`m asking the U2 fans if they suggest checking out this tour?.Thanks Dudes.

I've not taken them seriously since 1991. It's allowed me to enjoy some of their records since then.

Still, there was a time where they were on the 1. The right amount of bombast and ambience. It's hard to do, and they did it for a spell.

I actually really like the Unforgettable Fire era stuff, but really not a whole lot either before or after that much really. I mean, it's all okay, I guess...

Can't really tell you anything about this tour. They played here but we didn't go. I've seen them before, but to be honest, we went just to see The Pixies open up.

It depends on what you like. If you're going to hear the hits you will hear a few.

When I went they played 7 of their new songs off the new album, a couple songs from Unforgettable Fire. They played 5 songs from All That You Can't Leave Behind and just a few songs from every other album.

They're coming back next summer so they might have a new album out by then.

I think Achtung Baby was their high water mark. And yea, there was excess then, but it was more an ironic indictment of excess than a true participation in it. The whole thing with them getting supermodel girlfriends and Bono's alter-egos and prank calling the White House were done with a wink and a nudge...they still got the joke then. Unfortunately, they've long lost sense of it and become what they used to poke fun at. I would gladly take a souped up DeLorean back in time to experience ZooTv.

Pretty apt though.

Yeah, that's what I had in mind. Achtung Baby is a great record. The tour, too. That was 1991, right? I suppose 1992, too.

ZooTv actually ran all the way til '93. In the middle of that they managed to release Zooropa as well, which is a cool continuation of the ideas they were playing with on Achtung.

Actually, Im going to go out on a ledge and say they were still on their game with Pop. Aside from Miami (which is horrendous), that album has aged surprisingly well IMO. Discotechque, Do You Feel Loved, Mofo, Last Night On Earth, Gone, Please...all solid..

I love Pop. Totally underrated, in my opinion.

I forgot about Zooropa! I really liked that album, too...although it's like Achtung's little annoying brother.

The first two minutes of the title track on Zooropa are excellent.

That whole song is brilliant; one of the singular best things U2 ever wrote. Its like some long lost Led Zeppelin track filtered through a techno cyber-punk filter.

Dirty Day is the other real standout.
