A week ago the Flaming Lips store was taking preorders for the CoM DVD/CD edition, not sure why it's not there now, but they were and I took the opportunity to order. While I was at it, I also ordered the two CoM posters they have available which I'd been meaning to do forever, but had just never gotten around to. Well, I just got a shipping confirmation for the two posters and included with the email was this little tidbit, and I quote:

i KNOW. I clicked the little link on the home page the first day it was up, and the dvd is no where in the store. how limited was it?? first 10 people or something?? It's The Flaming Lips, the people who are gonna buy the DVD are gonna want the music. why not have the soundtrack in with every DVD??

yes.... and.... just below CoM on the order confirm it says "street date 10-27-2008..."
I doubt that means anything but you can't deny it's there. Also perhaps you've missed that Mr. Mod ordered his during a brief period of time they were for sale BEFORE they went on sale on friday. Which probably explains the difference in dates, they corrected the info when they put it back up for sale.

Haha well of course I see the street date on there, and of course it was corrected later. I was just doing my best to completely crush and proceed to stomp on the hopes and dreams of Mr. Modular here.
