My first post. Hallo.

As a longtime fan of the Flaming Lips AND being a movie store geek, I have to say that my excitement with the impending/prolonged release of "Christmas on Mars" had peaked and then wavered a bit over time. Nevertheless, I made my preorder and was excited by the lovely package of goodies that arrived.

And, I loved the film. I don't want to get too into a typical movie review so I can be pretty general when I say it has all of the heart and humor that I expected of a Flaming Lips movie.
Again, as a movie store nerd, I very much appreciated the poignancy of so very much of the film that reminded me of "Solaris" (the original one) and "2001", among others.
Hell, there's a little "Taxi Driver" in there- that feeling of desperate loneliness. Ya' dig?

AND, being an Okie by birth, I think the Captain made me a little homesick. I think I worked for that guy on an oilrig...or maybe I am related to him. Regardless, I love that guy.

Anyways...simply...I loved this movie and it was every bit worth the wait.
