I'd love to get in there and persuade Cinema Purgatorio to have some UK screenings while the film is still in hype mode. The only way I can think of doing this is by drumming up some interest on here and in the facebook group.

If anyone knows of any decent cinemas in cities across the UK which would be suitable for a showing (would definitely need a decent sound system, and i'm assuming it would need to be an independent cinema) they can suggest the venue at this page:

I've already suggested Tyneside cinema which is a fairly nice independent cinema in Newcastle-upon-Tyne with (so i'm told) a decent sound system.

And I'd like to say whoever is in charge of distribution of merch sucks. Can't ship Xmas on Mars to the UK, which is stupid since they're probably bigger here than they are over there, relatively speaking. So stupid. We miss out on a lot, yet Wayne maintains he "loves us"

Hey, I'm sure you can - I have two orders on the go right now, and just yesterday received a couple of tshirts from their online store give it a try, you can select the UK for the country and then the form changes and it lets you type in your county instead of selecting a state.

As for the UK screenings: I'm not convinced it would be a success, but then again, I could have completely the wrong idea of the hype. A great venue would be the 'Filmhouse' in Edinburgh, which specialises in great independent movies.

The Filmhouse sounds great. Could you suggest it as a venue on the suggestions link?

Wait, just had a thought. Are you trying the flaminglips.com store, or the new one on the christmas on mars website? I ordered mine to the UK from the main store, with no problem... if you're using the new CoM one, maybe try the main store.

There's a banner on they Lips Myspace page that mentions ordering in the UK, but it just links to the new CoM website.
