You know you're officially an insane fan when you travel from atl to Washington state for a festival with the Flaming Lips. The combo of UFO show + "Christmas on Mars" premiere was too much to pass up.

Who else is on board for Sasquatch?

I'm really considering it; I'm seeing how money will work out. I would be making the trip from Atlanta too actually.

The drive from Florida to OKC was bad enough.

I just wish the lips would host their own festival, with multiple sets and the premier of the movie. Kinda like how moe. has moe down, snow down, and summer camp. The lips need a giant festival of their own every year. Wouldn't that be great?

I really wish the Lips would do another non-festival show out here outdoors again. I know if they played Bend again this summer on their own they would sell out with a UFO show. Can you guys make this happen in July or August please??!!

Why did they suck? Do you not like Built to Spill? I've seen them before, they're all great guitar players, and have a lot of material to draw from. I thought they were great when I saw them.

I'll just say that after the Meat Puppets they should have really brought the rock and they didn't.

Is it really true?????? I am going to Sasquatch, it's where I saw the Lips for the 1st time. I just may poop my pants if I can see Christmas on Mars there as well!!!!!!!!!!! The Gorge is a cool place to see a show, but has no shade in the day, and gets kind of cold at night. Come prepared.

hey what kind of hot is it? super humid? dry? i'm not really familiar with seattle weather except that cher called it "crisp" in "clueless."

Last time the Lips played there I got a nasty sunburn and then pelted with ice for over an hour. There is no preparing...

Bridget; It is a dry heat, it is central Washington.

It sounds interesting, I don't nesessarily care for festival shows,and getting 3rd degree sunburn . We'll see though at least it is close to my house.

yet another q about sasquatch:

there is a no re-entry policy for the ampitheater, even for campers. I don't totally understand this. how do they keep track of whether you already came in or not? do you have a ticket for each day or something? also, that's shitty. what if i need a change of wardrobe or just a nap?

if any sasquatch veterans can tell me what's up, i'd greatly appreciate it.

I picked a bad time to be chaning jobs!!! Not sure if I can make it but definately trying hard for this bad boy.

Anyhow answer to your questions. Basically the Gorge is set up with a Huge Parking lot, then a seperate lot for the campsite. The Venue grounds are seperate. Once you go inside the venue grounds you can't do in and outs but you can do in and outs from the camp site as much as you want.

This being said late at night they really don't care about in and outs and you can always pull the old "I left my Inhaler at the Camp site" and you get you ticket scanned for re entry. The walk from the campsite to the venue is about 15 minutes from the front of the campsite. Your site could be another 15-20 minutes from the entry of the camp site.
