I will be there. The lineup for the festival is interesting, albeit slightly underwhelming. This is, however, probably the only chance we'll ever have to see the Lips in this part of the Great White North.
Here's hoping they get a decent amount of stage time. Calgary needs a good freak out.
There's a zoo not too far away from the festival ...
do you have any more info on the festival? im not from the area and want to learn more - a friend told me there was a competition to win tickets if you review bands at the festival
can you take alcohol in there? have you been before?
I was going to go, but then I had plans come up as well as the fact that it is a pretty mediocre line-up. It's worth going to see the lips alone, but then again the plans get in the way.

I'm going - and just for the Flaming Lips and nobody else!
Yeah, dhtu knows the story; Calgary DOES need a good freak out and I fully expect that the Lips this Saturday should leave the local yocals slack-jawed to say the least!
Why don't some of us from here meet-up and exchange introductions earlier on? We could meet right inside the gates and go have a pint or somethin ..
i just clicked on the link & am immediately offended that The Tragically Hip are one of the 'main' bands i guess (there name is on a signpost bigger thanthe other bands along with STP) I mean, wtf? Tragically Hip is more popular than the Lips???

Yep, Mountain Side totally rocked, and The Song Remains The Same was a nice curveball too. The Flaming Lips were the absolute highlight of the festival, even though theirs was a daylight set.
It was our 1st time seeing them, and -as expected- they were fantastic! We left after their set (zero interest in STP), and noticed quite a few others doing the same.

Hey Tinbergen... did you dance on stage at Pemberton? I thought this was the name you gave me... but not sure.
Anyways, there are some sweet pictures of us in the Pemberton thread... assuming I have the right LipHead.
