I think it'll translate into long term success like Zareeika was.

Wow, Embryonic has blown me away. I like it a lot more than Mystics already. The album flows really well, but it also reminds me of Zaireeka in many ways. The simple repetitiveness all over this album just keeps growing on me each listen. I'm surprised (and pleased) that Embryonic has been so successful for it not being a pop record with lots of single/standout tracks. Just a solid solid record.

One of the very few albums that I have to listen thru the whole way each time. I can't remember the last time I had an album do that.
There is so much embedded in there. You have some Pink Floyd Meddle, some Jim Morrison groaning and breathing....
Ivins killing me with his bass. I find myself waiting for him to thump it again.
The perfect medicine that has gotten me thru two of the shittiest weeks at work.

This interview with Wayne is good.

http://pitchfork.com/features/...20-the-flaming-lips/

My favorite bit: "I'm such a sloppy player that when I play with someone of Steven's caliber, he plays to my strengths. That's the real sign of a master musician, when the worst player in the room sounds like the star."

My apologies if this was already posted.

I posted this thought over at the new place, but does anyone else find reading a Wayne interview exhausting? Often, I never understand what he is talking about, or it takes a long time for him to get to a point. Just wondering if it's me.

It's not just you. I often pretend that Wayne has adult ADHD and forgot his dose of Strattera whatever I read one of his interviews.

It's not just you. I think Wayne tends to provide--not answers to questions--but his thoughts that surround what might be the answer. It's a little disorienting sometimes.

It's like he keeps shaking the jar, and eventually, something meaningful and wonderful will tumble out.

Yeah, I used to read a lot of interviews with him but he trails off so much and so often that it can be pretty draining listening to him go off on these tangents.

Little disappointed that's not Michael on the bass.

Bummer.
