Hey, Stereogum has video of the lips rehearsing for the Rock Honors for The Who coming up. I was looking forward to it already, but this really looks like fun. Plus, I see Kliph is skipping the hi hats in honor of the late Mr Moon...
Rock Daily reports it might include the first ever live performance of The Who By Numbers's "Slip Kid," but it's hard to say if it'll show up on the VH1 broadcast
I've played all that stuff before and it's not easy to make it sound that good.
Kudos to Kliph and Steven.
That rocks!!

It's not the first ever performance - they played it several times in early 1976. That said, I would love to see it.

For my fellow Canuck fans Much More Music will be airing the special as well: 7/17/2008 9:00 PM MMMOnStage - VH1 Rock Honors: The Who This year’s event will deliver a night of high-voltage tribute performances by Pearl Jam, Foo Fighters and the Flaming Lips all leading up to the spectacular grand finale performance by The Who as they rock the stage. Incubus and Tenacious D will also join the lineup along with an appearance by Rainn Wilson.
