Yeah, what windowlicker said. I mean, I think this is just HOW the Flaming Lips SOUND when they jam now. They just sound like this. Of course there's added production, but I think you know what I mean.

So all snide remarks aside, I've always believed when you judge art, you have to look at two things:
1) What was the artist intentions?
2) Did he or she succeed?

So I have toi assume the idea of Embryonic was NOT to give the listeners the usual Flaming Lips fare. Matter of fact, Now that I'm typing this, maybe they WERE just jamming and said "Hey, we should just put out an album like this." That's the only way this album would make sence to me. They didn't want to make songs, they wanted acid-jams and sonic soundscapes. Or this is a soundtrack to some movie from Alpha Centuri.

Yeah, I like it better upon a 3rd listen (which I'm on) but I still would like the Beach Boys harmony ON TOP of Kroutrock. Why can't we have both?
