While it is unknown whether any other members of the band do, Kliph Scurlock (the on-tour drummer for the band) has stated on several occasions that lead Flaming Lips singer, Wayne Coyne, is an avid drinker of Diet Coke.

Q: Is it true that the original Michael Ivins died in a car crash five years ago and has since been replaced by Michael Ivins look-a-like, Ringo Star?

I know not of the avidness, but I can attest to the fact on one (city stages in al) ocassion I did see Mr Coyne himself toting a 6 pack of diet coke back to his hotel room.

"After scampering around in a giant hamster ball and shooting people w/ confetti, nothing satisfies MY flaming lips like a cold Diet Coke "
*insert big lip smacking swallow of aforementioned soda here*
"ahhhh, now THAT'S a tasty beverage"

Q: Is the flaming lips visual artist for the live shows really that cute, or was that girl telling me a lie when she told me she made the videos on the big screen during the last pukkelpop gig
