Since I've read enough threads against AWWTM and because I want to see some different kinds of responses outside of that one:

What is your least favorite Lips album, and why?

I would say mine is Telepathic Surgery. It has some great tracks on it, but overall the album just really doesn't stay consistent and it feels broken at parts.

I'm unfond of the Ego Tripping At The Gates Of Hell EP. The remixes kind of stank.

Zaireeka because though I really like listening to it, it's a real pain in the ass to listen to, and the bootleg 2.0 mix is awful. The mixes off the soft bulletin companion are good, but it isn't the complete album.

Aaaand the first reponse is AWWTM! So funny I forgot to laugh! Comedy gold!

I would have to say Clouds at this point since I just got it and haven't really given it time to grow on me yet. I didn't really like Yoshimi at first, but now I love it. It grows on you. Smile

Clouds Taste Metallic

I think this was the best era of The Flaming lips. I also like the orchestral pop of The Soft Bulletin, but my favorite is the frenetic rock they made with Ronald and Stephen. I think every song on Clouds is absolutely perfect.

Shit! I thought this thread said FAVORITE Lips album!

I guess my least favorite (aside from Mystics) is Telepathic Surgery. There are a few great songs on it, but there's an awful lot of filler.

Yep, Telepathic Surgery for me too.

(and for the record I place it below Mystics, which I actually enjoyed Smile)

I enjoyed Mystics, too, I dunno what you're all on about (Except I hate Haven't Got a Clue). Least favorite right now is probably Priest Driven, but I really haven't given it a good honest listen. Then Oh My Gawd, I suppose.

I totally dig...except I still find myself drawn to "Sunship Balloons," even though I know it's kind of a dumb song. I still love it. Weird how that happens sometimes.

I have neither the courage to blindly worship a rock star, nor the wit to call the original poster a "faggot." I envy you your strength of spirit.

Anyway, my actual answer would be The Soft Bulletin.

A toughie this one for me. I really like Telepathic to be honest, but admit it feels a bit oddly put together and not consistent.

I'd actually say Hit to Death, but thats a tough one because I love so much of it.

I find it hard to knock Yoshimi as that merely represents another turning point for the band in style and music (in my view). Whilst not to everyones taste, it marks an important place in the history.

I'm not hugely against AWWTM either, but there you go.
