Since this is a question that gets asked a lot, the ipods on their guitars are just there for show. Wayne mimes some songs because of all his stage antics, he wouldn't be able to concentrate on playing otherwise.

Hi Kliph,

One of my favorite lips sogs is "Evil Will Prevail," and I was just wondering how you interpreted the song. Do you think the ones "with loving hands and their arms are stretched so wide they can't even take a breath knowing evil will prevail" are admirable or naive? I tend to lean towards admirable since they "know' evil will prevail but choose to keep their hands loving and arms outstretched; they know people suck and will probably throw their love back in their faces, but the alternative of sucking themselves is not an option. Still, the line about the magic bullet being the glowing mothership and the mother zapping you dead makes me think of the cult that committed suicide because they wanted to follow the alien spaceship behind the Hale-Bopp commet to paradise. I definitley relate to the people with loving arms, but I certainly don't want to get to the point where I put myself in the position that I am zapped dead by any fucked up mother.

Are there any plans for you to do studio recordings with the band?

Has there ever been any discussion?

Any discussion of you becoming an "official" band member?

Or have you wrote a song that the Flaming Lips could perform? Do you ever sing or write lyrics?

Kliph - a bit of a long shot here, but do you have any idea why the band has never played 'Slow Motion' live anywhere ever?

It's strange to me only because a) I love that song, and b) everything else off The Soft Bulletin has got played live at some point or other since 1999 when the album came out.

Hey Kliph,

I have 2 questions, if you could please find the time...

1. I was wondering who was the most exciting/coolest person (besides a bandmate) you've gotten to meet being in the band.

2. What do you think of Alfie. They are/were friends of the band, right? I think the song "People" is pretty spectacular. Most of they're other stuff doesn't really sound like that at all but i like it.

3. You think the lips will be inducted into the rock n' roll hall of fame? They have to be right? If so when?

Thank you!! Smile

That would be Steven. And it was accidental both times.

Finally we know! Cool

just out of curiosity, what songs do you hear beeping? I don't think i've ever heard it.

Well, it's the same guitar for starters. There was never any reasoning behind taping the iPod to it other than Wayne thought it looked "weird". As far as miming vs. playing - Wayne, for some reason, doesn't think he's a very good guitarist (though a lot of us know that he is) and chooses not to actually play on a majority of the songs.

My question is this: since the show is poolside, will you guys have the full stage show going? Confetti? Balloons?

Has any thought been given to going completely against the grain while in Vegas and pull off a special acoustic, or stripped back electric show?

That would be bad assed.....

as always, we love you...see you soon live!

No, it's going to be the whole show.
If the album shows happen, I think those'll be more "stripped down."

I like Wilco. Yankee Hotel Foxtrot, while having a lot of good songs, goes on for too long and I can never make it all the way through it in one sitting.
