Have you played on any other Elephant 6 albums? I've always thought that any of those bands would be great openers for the Lips, especially the Olivia Tremor Control. I'll keep dreaming....maybe Cornelius will join the show as well. Thanks again!

I'm on that song "A Better Way To Be" or whatever it's called. That's the only Elephant 6 recording I've been on and I wasn't even sure I'd be on that one. We were in Athens in 2000 and had a day off and I went to Bill's house and he was working on that song and asked if I'd lay a scratch drum part down so he could continue working on it. I did and then a while later I bought the album and was surprised (and honored) to find my shitty scratch drum track on it.

And if you want to see Cornelius and the Lips together, you should have seen one of the Music Against Brain Degeneration shows. Cornelius were fantastic.

I'll start working on a time machine. I'll keep you informed.

Because it would be cheap and obvious.

Hold up now... i remember a certain hat Red Face

A pic of that hat would be all the evidence anyone would ever need.

Hi Kliph!

First off, the Voodoo Fest show was incredible! You guys sounded so good! Wanted to say hello just before the show backstage but I think you were on a quick mission for the john. My question, did you guys get to check out any bands at the fest? Eat some awesome food? Thanks for coming back to New Orleans! Tell all your friends we're still alive down here!

Heres a question for you....

Since you guys just recorded a cover of Dark Side, do you ever plan on playing it in it's entirety LIVE????

That'd be flipping SWEET....... I mean come on... The albums only about 45 minutes long....

Sandwiches are good and June 16th is the coolest day ever. The Minutemen even did a song about it.

Damn straight they did...

The Minutemen put Sammy Hagar in his place, or so says Mike Watt.

Kliph-

I know this isn't the place for requests, but is there any chance of you guys going back to performing Yoshimi (and Fight Test) in their original form, ie: not the chilled down sing-a-long form?
(At least for Chicago? We already got the mellow versions a couple of months ago!)
And do you think you guys could do a balloon drop at the Chicago show, like you do at NYE shows- it is a 'big holiday' show after all.

Hey Kliph,

First off, congrats for Embryonic, it's a stunning album and a phenomenal Lips album debut for you.

I was just wondering, did you use the acrylic see-through drums to record the album or did you use wood drums? Did Steven play his own drums or use yours?

Thanks!

Kliph,
I noticed that you are not playing Watching the Planets during your gigs in Europe.
What gives?
It was soooo good on the Tonight Show.

So Kliph,

You've seen your boss' penis. That seems like it could be awkward.

~JF

ps - I realize that was more of an observation that a question. Sorry. To make amends...have you guys ever (seriously) discussed the idea of playing one of your albums in its entirety in concert?

pps - it's still weird that you've seen your boss' penis, isn't it? I know it'd be weird for me. Then again, my boss is a woman...

will you be playing a full set in your upcoming chicago show?

Whats the weirdest thing the Flaming Lips have talked about doing, but haven't. and why not.

Do you think the flaming lips would ever consider doing a whole album concert thing... like rent out the chicago theatre (or anywhere else) for 5 days and play 5 different albums in their entirety?

Is there any way you could get permission from SFA to share the Flaming Lips version of "Psyclone!"? I've been dying to hear it ever since I heard of it.

But it is kind of cool that it's kind of a song exclusive to you, so if it never ended up in the publics' hands it'd always be a really cool track exclusive to you guys as a band. I like the idea of that too.

Does it sound exactly the same? I never got to hear it before a show.

Kliph!

At the 16/Nov show in Manchester, do you recall a couple of blokes cheering you on specifically and sharing a few waves and air drumming? If so, that was us. Hope you appreciated the support!

Kliph,

Thanks so much for Embryonic and continuing to open up my mind with music. Generally, how did the creative process flow on this new record compared to any others?

Hey Kliph,
Many thanks for a great show in Birmingham on Tuesday - my 6th and probably the best so far. Stardeath are a great opener for the Lips and their set really blew some minds in the audience, especially when the pressed the 'Woah!' button on the strobes......

Is there a possibility that a crapy version of the merriweather show will ever be released?
