Because they didn't want to put both that and "The Spiderbite Song" on it and the U.S. branch of WB wanted "The Spiderbite Song."

You can learn about Renn Fayre here and here . It's basically a three-day party with art projects and a maze and a time machine and all kinds of crazy rooms and structures.

I think having a giant balloon filled with lasers would be the coolest thing ever, so could you please tell me how it works, or ask Wayne how it works?

Also, you're invited if you want to come. It's the weekend of May 2nd. The rest of the band can come too, and although it'd be sweet if you played a show, I'm not sure we can afford you.

If you do come, I promise you'll have a blast.

-A Reedie

The lazers weren't inside the balloon. The audience had lazer pointers and they shone them on the balloon.

Mine is probably "I Can See For Miles" or "Underture." I think Wayne's is "The Song Is Over." I don't know about Michael's or Steven's.

Kliph,

How much vocal processing occurs in the studio? I know Wayne can sing well but doesn't always pull it off live...does the recording process involve lots of takes until he nails it or are his vocals tweaked?

Hullo Kliph -

I've been reading this thread off/on for about five hours now - loving the questions and your responses. I humbly have a few questions of my own

1. What do you think of the Drive By Truckers? I only ask because your former 'animal wrangler' on the 'U.F.O.s' DVD (just finshed watching it) had a cap on...

2parter. Do you have any Rituals that you do before a show? What do you do to wind down after a show?

3. Please rate these songs from 1 to 10 - 'Vein of Stars' and 'The Sound of Failure'

Last one. Is there any shame of wanting to learn guitar/drums at 26 years of age?

Played Baritone/Tuba in various School Bands from 6-12th grade, but that's about all... I really miss playing music, but I really don't think playing 'Rhythm Tuba' is gonna get me some 'Backstage Bettys' anytime soon...

Thanks in advance and keep up the good rockin'.
EDIT: oh, and Happy Thanksgiving.

1. I haven't met him, therfore the chance has never arisen; but I would never steal from Wayne - he's one of the VERY FEW people that I honestly respect (without having the chance to meet).

2. The pen from the principal of my elementary school -
This was back when Corporal Punishment was in effect and I stole a supposedly valuable looking pen from him while waiting in his office; I guess it must've had some sentimental/monetary value cause he'd occasionally ask teachers about that pen for the rest of the school year. I really disliked him.

Hey Kliph.

Thanks to you, I've gotten into Deerhoof lately. I went to their website, downloaded the free songs, and I've been listening to them non stop. The live mp3s are awesome and now I'm determined to see them live, but unfortunately it may be awhile since they have already been through Tampa not too long ago. Frown

I need your advice though....I had no idea they had so many albums, so where should I start? I can only afford to buy one at a time. Their recent album seems like the logical choice, but after listening to "Milkman" (the song, not whole album) it seems that album would be good, as well as 'Runners Four' from which I heard the awesome live version of "Killer Twins". Your help is appreciated on this urgent matter. Smile

Also, You talk a lot about SFA but I cannot find anything about them. Do they have a website where I could listen to some of their music? Thanks.

Shit, I could tell you this, if I were at my house, for I have one, retrieved from my skull, hanging from a fake bird stuck on my wall.

Thanks Kliph for this gift. Consider yourself absolved from buying me anything special for christmas.
